Mobile Golf Cart Medics: Atlanta's Golf Cart Experts
Are you considering replacing or upgrading your golf cart's battery pack, stereo, suspension or wheels and tires. As an Atlanta resident, you're well aware that the terrain in our area offers extreme challenges, taxing your cart to its limits. As a rule of thumb, if your existing batteries are more than five years old, it's only a matter of time before they start to cost more time to charge than it's worth. In addition to longer charging times, your system will no longer run efficiently. Repair costs will begin to add up as parts are replaced and drivetrain undergoes major wear and tear. If you need battery installation, axle repair, or general maintenance. Mobile Golf Cart Medics is the most trusted name in Atlanta.
Go Carts, ATVs and other off-road vehicles fall under our general services as well. Their systems are very similar and we have extensive knowledge in a number of manufacturers and models for these vehicles. Please don't hesitate to give us a call with any questions. Common Golf Cart Repairs
Wherever you go, you can probably count on finding a golf cart nearby. They have become an American staple and are found not at just the golf course, but almost anywhere. From commercial locations with industrial purposes to residential locations with entertainment purposes, golf carts can be used for just about anything. If you're using your cart for work or just for a quick trip around the subdivision, you can count on having to do some repairs at one point or another.
Just like any other vehicle, even the best of golf carts will break down and occasionally require some repairs. That's where we come in. We will come to your golf cart and perform the repairs on site. If it needs to be transported to our service facility for repairs, we can do that too!
Electric powered and gas powered golf carts have different designs as well as common problems. The most common problem with an electric powered cart would be your battery. Its job is to provide power to your cart. Without it, all you have is a cool seat. The battery is charged, used, depleted and then charged again. This happens repeatedly until the battery fails to properly perform it's job.
If your golf cart won't start, be sure to check the terminals on your batter. They should be clean and securely connected. You'll also want to check the water level in the batter. If it is low, add distilled water until the plates inside the battery are covered with water. Doing so, you'll want to make sure not to overfill it. Another sign you'll want to look for is acid leakage. If you see any signs of this on the outside of the battery case, you'll need to replace the battery. There is not a way to repair the battery case. This is a common problem and will need to be taken care of immediately. This acid can leak to other parts of your cart and ruin them also. If it has spilled, a mixture of water and baking soda will help to clean up the spill and neutralize the acid. We recommend using an old towel that you don't mind ruining.
Another common golf cart repair is tire damage. We can more than likely repair a damaged tire, but if it does not have much life left in it you will be better off replacing it. Tires are designed for different purposes. We commonly see off road tires being used on paved surfaces which wears them out much quicker than your smooth highway tires. Some companies even offer field terrain tires.
We do recommend checking the air pressure in your tires frequently. They should meet the recommended air pressure levels. If needed, you can add air to each tire being cautious of overfilling them. Excess air can be just as bad, if not worse, than too little air. Either of these problems will cause your tires to prematurely wear, costing you more in the long run.
Gas powered golf carts are generally more complex and have a wide range of common problems. Obviously, the batteries and tires can be a problem with them as well as engine components like spark plugs. Without spark, you will be again stuck with just a cool seat. Fouled plugs can misfire and cause the engine to hiccup and sputter, or even refuse to crank. Replacements can be purchased through us as well as upgraded plugs and fuel additives to prevent the problem from happening again.
Whatever problem your cart may be having, we can help. We have years of experience in the repair end of the golf cart business and are happy to help with any problem you may be having. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
